Shoulder Pain

Shoulder pain is one of the most common reasons that people visit the Barron Clinic. The shoulder is the most movable joint in the body, and because of this, it is often injured. As a ball and socket joint the shoulder relies on the integrity of its supporting muscles, tendons and ligaments to work properly.

There are 4 joints that need to move properly for correct shoulder function, along with the neck, upper back and even the pelvis, so the key is to correctly identify where the problem lies.

Shoulder pain may be localised, but often presents as pain in the upper arm as well.

Headaches and Migraine

There are many types of headache, and they are very common, we all have one now and again, but if you are suffering a lot of headaches or migraines we can help.

The most common type of headache is a referred pain from the muscles in the upper neck and back, associated with poor posture, stress or after an injury.

Migraines are severe headaches with other associated symptoms, which can have many different causes, but problems with the joints in the neck can have a contributory role.

Chiropractic treatment is very effective in reducing stiffness in the neck joints and muscles, and often involves gentle adjustments to free up stiff joints and massage to reduce muscle tension. Exercises will also often be given which help maintain flexibility and reduce recurrence.
